The NQSTI International School: advances in solid-state quantum technologies
The School will be held in Catania (Italy) from June 30th to July 5th 2025. Solid-state quantum technologies are nowadays at the core of innovating applied science and fundamental research in numerous fields. The School aims to provide in-depth of the following topics:
- superconducting quantum circuits
- semiconductor-based qubits
- impurity-based quantum components
- topological superconductors and Majorana fermions
- many-body open quantum systems
- spectroscopy readout and multiplexing
- sensing and metrology
- optimal control and machine learning
- quantum thermodynamics and thermal transport
- modular architectures for quantum computing.
The program will provide an interdisciplinary approach, alternating lectures on theoretical and experimental aspects. The speakers will include: A. Chatterjee, M. Esposito, N. Fabbri, R. Fazio, B. van Heck, J. Koch, F. Mattei, M. Paternostro, M. Thorwart.
The school is aimed at PhD students wishing to acquire training and skills in the field of solid-state quantum technologies. Interested students are asked to pre-register via the following link: pre-registration form.
The objective is to bring together a public with different educational backgrounds, to encourage cooperation, as well as cultural and scientific exchanges. The school is fully taught in English and is organized by the National Quantum Science and Technology Institute (NQSTI). The school will take place at Camplus Catania (/www.camplus.it/citta/catania/camplus-catania/) at walking distance
from the seaside.Social events and guided tours will be organized.
