The activity is concerned with the development, in close collaboration with designers from the Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK), Trento, of microelectronic circuits for measuring the space and time correlation in applications to imaging of correlated photons from entangled or chaotic sources. The activity will be structured, in particular, in the following two phases: 1) identification of the most advantageous approach for the design and the implementation of the measurement system, and 2) design in the Cadence environment of microelectronic blocks for processing signals from SPAD detectors in quantum imaging applications. The candidate is expected to have some experience in microelectronic design in the Cadence (or other design) environment. The work will be carried out in the Electronic Instrumentation Laboratory, at the Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering, University of Pavia. The activity will be conducted in collaboration with the designer group at Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Trento. The appointment will have a duration of one year, renewable for another additional year. The monthly salary is 1800 Euro after taxes.
